About Me

damon
Los Angeles, CA
I started my training in classical animation in 1998. After a year at an art institute,I had the opportunity to study one-on-one with Sam Singer, a Disney animator from the 1930’s, for four years. After he passed away, I changed direction and pursued work on live action films. I worked on a few films doing illustration and also some storyboarding. On the side, I was commissioned by the Los Angeles Fire Department Museum & Memorial to create a collection of historical watercolor paintings which are currently on display in Hollywood and San Pedro Harbor. Shortly after, I acquired a job at a model shop where I learned to build miniature and oversized props for films/television/themed entertainment. I have continued to work in the model-making industry. Although I have never been formally trained in photography, it has always been an important part of my life. I started off taking candid and still-life photos, with an emphasis on the way light creates emotion in the overall composition. Over the past few years, I have experimented with creating emotion with light alone.
